With money being on the midst of every American, come the concerns of what they need to cut back on and how to live a frugal lifestyle.  Some choose to forgo vacations, shopping sprees, restaurant dining and even grocery spending.  Though there are some that decide to cut back on the monthly insurance premiums.

Wealthy individuals and impoverished individuals have a completely different mind set when it comes to health insurance during times of financial crisis.  The Wealthy look at insurance as financial security for their future, where as the impoverished look towards it as a luxury and a month payment that is better going to food, clothing and shelter.  The misconception by the impoverished individual become a costly mistake.

Insurance is not an added luxury in a persons life, it is a means of financial security and a stability factor that keeps them and their families safe.  It is important to note that without insurance one could be leaving a large gap in their family’s security for the future.

Many times, the individuals who believe that there is no need for health insurance, have little to nothing.  Realistically these are the individuals who need the insurance the most.  Insurance coverage, like health insurance, can cover many unforeseen circumstances.  If you become ill and pass away your insurance plan pays all your medical bills leaving your family free of the responsibility.  Also, what if your home burns down, will you be able to afford to go and buy a new one right away, could you replace every item in your home?  Most likely the answer is no, this is where insurance plays a crucial role in everyone’s life.

To summarize, insurance coverage, like life insurance, health insurance, car insurance, and homeowners or renters insurance policies are designed to protect all that you have accumulated including your family.  Don’t overlook the importance of this monthly expense.  It would be better to eat Ramen noodles every night, than to cancel your insurance policy really.

THE TRUTH ABOUT LOW COST HEALTH INSURANCE

It is natural for us to try to save when we can so that we can spend on what we want to. However, is it wise to try and save on health insurance by going for the low cost ones? Let us look further into the truth about low cost health insurance.

Need For Health Insurance

The average cost of hospitalization and treatment has been escalating. In order to help you survive through the colossal medical bills shoved your way in times of emergencies, you need health insurance. Nevertheless, with the cost of basic necessities increasing at a more rapid pace than our salaries, it can be quite challenging to put aside money to invest in health insurances. It is a fact that about 40 million people in America do not have health insurance. While some choose not to take up health insurance simply because they do not understand the importance of it, most others do not have health insurance because they cannot afford it.

Low Cost Health Insurance

All is not lost and there is still hope. There are low cost health insurance policies in the market for people with tight budgets. With more low cost health insurance providers entering the market every day, finding one that suits your needs and budget may not be impossible. However, you must be willing to do much research on the policies before settling on one.

Managed Care Health Insurance

Managed care health insurance is usually the preferred type of low cost health insurance. There are three kinds of managed care plans. They are Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and Point Of Service (POS). The common believe is that low cost health insurances are a waste of money as they do not provide much cover at all. On the contrary, low cost health insurances such as HMO plans are not only cheap but they also provide quite a comprehensive cover. They even require minimal paperwork when making claims. POS plans even offer preventive care and well-being services such as discounts on health club memberships on top of being low cost health insurances. The main disadvantage of having a low cost health insurance is the fact that you cannot go to a doctor of your choice. The doctor you go to must belong to the network of your plan.

A Well-Informed Choice Of A Low Cost Health Insurance Is Beneficial To Those With Tight Budget

If your financial situation permits, it would always be better to go for a more comprehensive cover and one that allows you more control over the choice of your doctor. However, if you are one of those with limited financial resources, you do not have to fear low cost health insurance. They are beneficial and you can get good deals which are affordable and yet provide good cover. It is smarter to have a basic health insurance than to have none at all. Having a low cost health insurance can be a wise choice if it had been properly researched and selected based on your needs.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE

What Is Private Health Insurance

Private health insurance can be taken up by consumers by paying a monthly premium for individuals or families. There are various advantages that private health insurance provides and below are just some of the reasons why consumers should be taking up one.

Advantages of Private Health Insurance

Choices! Choices! Choices! You have more choices with a private health insurance.

You can cater the coverage to your specific needs. For example, group health insurance does not usually come with maternity coverage. If this might be important to you, not only can you opt for the coverage but you can also decide upon the level of the coverage.

Besides adding on to the coverage, you can also choose to drop any options or cover that you deem unnecessary. This can help reduce your premium quite significantly.

You also get to choose the deductible and the copayment of the insurance plan. By choosing a higher deductible (must be within your financial limits), you also get to bring down your premium. You can also choose to bring down your monthly premiums by eliminating items that are needless for yourself or the family in the plan.

One big advantage of private health insurance as compared to employer sponsored group insurance is that your coverage is valid and yours as long as you pay the premium. Hence the insurance coverage for yourself and your family is independent of external circumstances like job, unemployment etc.

Disadvantages of Private Health Insurance

Private health insurances are more stringent in their conditions of acceptance. Consumers have to undergo health checks and some pre-existing conditions may render a person ineligible for private health insurance for those conditions.

Private health insurances also base their premiums on age. Hence the premiums will rise gradually in correlation with the consumers’ age. Hence it is critical to review the private health insurance cost annually and decide if maintaining the private health insurance is the best choice for you.

Private health insurance may also be less comprehensive than group health insurance. Hence often, consumers will find that conditions and treatments (such as maternity) once covered by their private health insurance are no longer valid.

Ways To Get Your Private Health Insurance

There is a variety of choices out there for private health insurance and consumers can search online for the best plan for them with optimal coverage at a reasonable cost. For some consumers, it might be better to enlist help of trained professionals who can suggest the best private health insurance for them based on their needs.
